Welcome to LA Design & Build. By commissioning work with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure transparency, fairness, and clarity for both parties.
1. Quotations & Pricing
- All quotations are free and valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
- Quotes are provided based on information at the time of assessment; unforeseen issues (e.g., hidden structural damage) may incur additional charges.
- Any variations or additional works outside the agreed scope will be discussed and priced before proceeding.
2. Deposits & Payment Terms
- A deposit of 20-30% (depending on the scope of work) is required to secure your booking and materials.
- The remaining balance is payable upon satisfactory completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Payment methods: Bank transfer, cheque, or cash (receipts provided).
- Late payments may incur interest charges at 3% above the Bank of England base rate per month.
3. Cancellation & Delays
- You may cancel or postpone work up to 7 days before the start date with no penalty.
- Cancellations within 7 days may forfeit your deposit to cover preparation and scheduling costs.
- We are not liable for delays caused by adverse weather, material shortages, or other circumstances beyond our control, but we will communicate and reschedule as soon as possible.
4. Workmanship & Materials
- All work is carried out by qualified professionals to high standards using quality materials.
- We provide a guarantee of up to 10 years on new roofing work (specifics depend on the type of service/materials).
- Manufacturer warranties apply where applicable.
- We cannot guarantee work carried out on existing structures or roofs that are already compromised.
5. Access & Site Safety
- The client must provide reasonable access to the site and ensure the work area is free from obstructions.
- We will take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and security of your property, but we cannot be held responsible for pre-existing issues or damage unrelated to our work.
- Children, pets, and non-authorised persons must be kept clear of the work area at all times.
6. Waste Removal & Clean-Up
- All waste materials generated from the project will be removed and disposed of in compliance with local regulations, unless otherwise agreed.
- We aim to leave your property clean and tidy at the end of each working day and upon completion.
7. Insurance & Liability
- We hold full Public Liability Insurance (£5 million) for your protection.
- We are not responsible for damage caused by unforeseen issues such as structural weaknesses, storm damage, or third-party interference once work is complete.

8. Complaints & Disputes
- If you have any concerns during the project, please raise them immediately so we can resolve them swiftly.
- Formal complaints should be submitted in writing within 14 days of completion. We will aim to resolve any issues within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
